Bob Holmes Message
All ages are listening and learning.

Truly Amazing Program!

Dear Mr. Holmes,

I am a teacher at the small school that you visited yesterday, Starks High School , in Starks, La. I am the high school English teacher here, and I know you get thousands of emails, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your mission. Last week (Nov 29th) our school lost someone who was very dear to us. He graduated two years ago, but he was still very close to many of our students and faculty. David was killed in a motorcycle accident - he was not at fault- it was very sudden and we know that he did not suffer. However, knowing this has not made it easier to accept. The loss of David has put things in perspective for many of our students. This realization that no one is invincible and that -yes- it could have been  one of them has been a shocking "wakeup call"  for many. Your message couldnt have come to us at a more appropriate time- yesterday afternoon I saw a difference in the kids - you gave them a little bit of hope when all has been dark in their worlds lately. One of my juniors has already talked to the assistant principal about organizing a "Beat the Odds" club at our school. Thank you so much for spreading the message and letting our kids know that someone out there cares. Please continue your message- I know our students were deeply touched by your words and I can't imagine how many more will be after they have heard you and watched you play.  Once again, thanks from the bottom of my heart -

Kerry

 Dear Bob,

Just wanted to thank you for the terrific program that you presented to our students. Our building is still talking about the fun that they had watching you play volleyball as well as the positive message that you also presented. In fact I have gotten a couple of calls from parents who called and thanked us for having such a wonderful assembly. Thanks again for visiting our school.

"Bob Holmes put on the most entertaining and meaningful assembly performance that I've seen in my entire career in education. He dazzled our students with humor, action, and athleticism. After captivating them with his amazing volleyball skills, he delivered a message about making good decisions. I will be recommending Mr. Bob Holmes to every principal that will listen."

Mr. Bob Holmes did an outstanding job of catching the student's attention from the first second he stepped onto the court until his last word.  Our middle school students connected with Mr. Holmes and responded to his message of the dark side of alcohol and drugs.  His presentation was lively, exciting, and powerful.  It was truly an amazing performance in that our whole community has been talking about the "One-Man Volleyball Team."

Bob Holmes came to our schools and took on the student body in a volleyball game.  At one time he played against approximately 300 students and beat them.  He spoke with the students about the effects of smoking and drinking.  He shared some personal stories about individuals who had died because of their smoking and drinking.  He also showed some pictures of what had happened to these individuals.  He shared information with our students about how they should not smoke or drink.  His talk was very inspiration to all of us.  It showed us many things that could happen when smoking and drinking take place with students and adults.

Dear Mr. Holmes:

On behalf of SADD Chapter, and the students at Mascoma Valley Regional High School, we would like to thank you for coming to our school...

When the SADD Chapter told Mascoma about you, the one man volleyball team, people were skeptical. They did not believe that one person could beat a group of people at volleyball.

A week went by after you came, and the students here at Mascoma were still talking about Bob Holmes, the one man volleyball team. They were amazed at how good you really are.

Again, thank you for your time and for coming to Mascoma. We all enjoyed you. Hope to see you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Mascoma SADD Chapter

To Whom it may Concern:

Bob Holmes presented his "One-Man" Volleyball Show for the student-athletes at East Carolina University on March 25, 1998.

The Bob Holmes performance on the volleyball court is absolutely incredible, but the message that he brings to youth is even more powerful. Bob Holmes brings a message relative to the dangers and destructive results associated with the abuse of alcohol, drugs and sex that is influential in the lives of our young people.

The support of the Bob Holmes' program is an investment in the promotion of the well being of our youth.

I have never witnessed a more powerful presentation than that of Bob Holmes. He is absolutely fantastic.

Sincerely,
Henry Vansant
